Elamoore Natural Soaps is a husband-and-wife team.
It all started one day when Jock (the beekeeper/husband) said to me “Why don’t you start making our own natural soaps using our honey and beeswax?”
Well, I had been buying natural soaps for years and had even bought natural handmade soaps from a market stall. And never did it enter my mind that I could make my own. Now that is a bit crazy when I hand make everything else! Why it never occurred to me that I could make my own soaps, I will never know.
Well, I immediately started researching on how to make soap. Three months later, I still had not made a single soap! This was driving my husband crazy. “I like to know what I am doing” I would say!
It took a friend to say to me ‘you just have to get started, make the mistakes and learn.’
Well, I did and that was back in April 2013. Elamoore Natural Soaps & Cosmetics was born. With the name Elamoore being a blend of my first and maiden names. And in keeping with the ethos of our honey business of more than 22yrs, we began making natural skin care products, with your health and well-being in mind.
Specialising in a range of natural handmade cold process soaps. The way soaps were originally made. (Cold process soap is made by combining oils and sodium hydroxide lye, which causes a chemical reaction called saponification).
Sourcing most ingredients where we can, locally. Olive oil, being the predominant oil in our soaps, sourcing this locally from the Western Australian country town of Donnybrook.
We also love to create our soaps with herbal infusions. Honey and herbal infusions, sounding delicious enough to eat (but we don’t recommend that you do).
The herbs are grown in our own organic garden. The herbs are then harvested, dried, and infused into the olive oil for 6 weeks. The honey and beeswax we use is harvested from our own hives. No chemicals are used in the care of our bees, with all hives being holistically cared for. Meaning, that we also place out our empty bee boxes in the springtime on farmers properties to catch the swarms and to home them. Keeping the farmers and the bee swarms alive and happy.
We have been taking our product to markets since we began. We have met so many people along the way. And that’s what keeps us coming back. it is the absolute delight on your faces when you return to re-stock your soap stash.
No chemicals in our honey, beeswax or herbs. No palm oil or artificial fragrances in our products.
A little bit of pure indulgence you can enjoy every day.
